Bhubble gives the power back to the people. Bhubble allows you (the people in a town) the ability to shape your own town website.
Bhubble was started in October 2006 in Rossland BC, Canada because we wanted a better local site to share groups, events, and photos with our neighbors. We found a big disconnect between our ‘town’ sites and what the people in our town were actually doing and saying. From this, Bhubble was born.
The idea to expand Bhubble into a worldwide network spawned from a brainstorm of how to make the site even more useful. We thought, if we felt this way about our town, surely more towns that felt the same way. Now, any town in the world can create there town site on Bhubble for free. Your town will be part of the worldwide network, so people outside of your town can see what is really happening there.
The Hub
Bhubble.com is a social networking site for small communities and towns. Every morsel of content that is entered into bhubble.com is associated with a physical town. Viewers can then see events, discussions, groups, etc. that are specific to their town. We decided to call it Bhubble because the structure is, essentially, a web hub. This means that bhubble.com is the backbone structure, or hub, for many other sites. Bhubble will be the place to go if you want to view and search towns around BC and eventually, the world.
The Spokes
There are several spokes that come out from bhubble.com as external websites. Users can create the sites themselves for event calendars, groups or even whole towns. These sites behave similarly to bhubble.com and users must create a bhubble.com user account to join the site.
