Learning assistant *WANTED*

We are looking for high energy, positive individual to work with a 14-year-old girl who has many interests including music, horses, and people! She has autism and needs support in all activities of daily living.

Activities include: nature walks, visit to the Youth Action Network center, eating snacks (or second lunch), occasional horse riding, music group, library, cross-country skiing, swimming,  etc...

Current needs are 130pm-430pm Mondays and Fridays or twice per school week 300-6pm.  Also, we have a 3 hours session available Sunday morning or afternoon!  We are somewhat flexible, talk with us!

During your sessions, you will work one-on-one with our daughter, guiding and modeling play, and working on daily living skills by using backward chaining principles. We will train the right individual and provide feedback. We can’t wait to hear from you if:

You are dynamic and confident.
Love the outdoors
You have a certificate or Bachelors in Education or Early Childhood Education AND experience working with young children and/or children with neuro differences or a diploma in Community and Classroom Support worker.  A combination of demonstrated critical thinking skills and experience may be considered. A clear criminal record to work with vulnerable population is also required.

Basically, you know how to be present and delight in the small wonders of life and can easily adapt mainstream activities to include and engage our girl. Hopefully, you are comfortable singing and/or play an instrument! Can you play guitar? Piano? Can you easily be a DJ?! Keep her cooler than her parents;)
