Symphony of the Kootenays with Amy Zanrosso - one performance only!

Symphony of the Kootenays comes to The Bailey in Trail this Saturday, October 5 at 7:30 pm for one show only!

It is rare for a symphony to play in Trail, and to make it even more special the Symphony of the Kootenays will perform Beethoven's Fifth for the first time, including Beethoven's Coriolanus Overture, Beethoven's 5th Symphony & Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto. A unique orchestral treat for your ears and mind.

Celebrating their 44th year, and Beethoven's 250th Birthday, this 44-member orchestra has entertained more than 80,000 audience members and played more than 600 pieces in more than 225 concerts. Led by conductor Jeff Faragher, a professional cellist with a youthful passion and energy, the Symphony is also joined by San Francisco based, Castlegar native, Amy Zanrosso, a world-renowned pianist. Amy has shared the stage with internationally recognized performers, including the Russian Chamber Orchestra, the GRAMMY award-winning Pacific Boychoir and Chorissima – the five-time GRAMMY award winning San Francisco Girl’s Chorus.

The rest of the orchestra is comprised of world-class musicians, many of which come from the Kootenay area, including: Dale Green-French horn (Rossland); Brie Hurlbert-violin (Castlegar); Rebecca MacLeod-violin, Miranda Hughes-viola, Alex Nichol-double bass, Rob Fahie-double bass, Catherine MacKinnon-flute, Ruth Langevin-flute and piccolo, Tim Bullen-trumpet, Dave Satanove-trumpet (Nelson); and Elizabeth Lupton-violin (Kaslo).
