Get involved with the Heritage BC Annual Conference, October 1-3!

The Heritage BC Annual Conference 'The Main Thing' is taking place in Rossland, October 1-3.

Not just for history buffs, the conference is open to all, featuring a variety of interactive workshops, talks, walking tours delving into Rossland's great history and tours further afield to Trail, Nelson and Penticton.

The conference workshops have something for everyone with topics including heritage and cultural tourism, heritage conservation and climate change, and traditional building materials and methods. Best of all, those hailing from Rossland, Trail and areas close-by can avail of the 'Rosslander rate' which gives great discounts on conference registration and the conference social at the Miners' Hall on Friday October 2 - The Prospector's Dinner.

There are also a number of ways that you can get involved with the conference:

Volunteer

We are looking for event volunteers to assist with the organizing and management of the conference. We are looking for volunteers who are keen to get involved and help the conference run smoothly! If you volunteer a minimum of 4 hours you also can attend the conference at a discounted rate of $75!

For more information please contact Shirin Shad

Billeting

If you live in the area and would like to help one of the delegates from out of town, consider volunteering to billet a guest during the conference.

You will be expected to provide comfortable sleeping arrangements and Rossland tips and recommendations to your billeted guest. While you are not expected to provide meals and transportation to and from the conference, you are welcome to do so!

If you’re interested in being a billeting host, email Conference Coordinator Anisa Musmary with your contact and housing information.
