Celebrate BC Museums Week from May 15th to 20th with us - entry by donation all week! Our Spring Hours begin on Tuesday, May 15th - Tuesdays-Sundays 10am to 5pm.

Tuesday, May 15th:
We'll be bringing a recent donation of a Petroform out on display for the week. We will continue researching this piece this summer so we can put it on permanent display in the fall.
Mr. Starzner's class at RSS PAC -Rossland Summit School have spent the past month learning about the Chinese history of our area. They presented the museum with a beautiful collection of reactive artwork demonstrating their learning of this important and difficult part of our history. Make sure you make it into the museum to view this collection of drawings, writings and poetry which will be on display at the museum all week.
Tuesday Evening is our community WildSafe BC - Wildlife Safety & Awareness at 6:30pm

Wednesday, May 16th: Museum Kids' Club will be creating their own museum exhibit in our JD McDonald Hall from 3-5pm.

Thursday, May 17th: Drawn to Nature will be learning about the work of Robert Bateman!
Robert Bateman is an acclaimed Canadian wildlife painter who is dedicated to the environment and conservation causes. As a child he was fascinated by the natural world and has been inspired by nature throughout his career.
If you're in Victoria this summer, be sure to check out the Robert Bateman Centre, which displays a lifetime of his work.

Saturday, May 19th: We'll be showcasing some exciting things from our upcoming exhibit on Rossland's red light district, brewing, and crime history!
In Crafternoons, kids will create their very own Wanted Posters inspired from some real life examples we'll be using in the exhibit.

The following week, we are also hosting Daniel Wehrle to present his talk: Secret Places, Forgotten Faces:Tales From Rossland's Ragged Edge on Thursday, May 24th
and on Friday, May 25th at the Seniors Centre, Veronica will be presenting a Public Workshop: Preserving Family Heirlooms
