GoodParty invites you to our monthly celebration of Snow!

Cultures around the world and throughout history have celebrated in order to bring copious amounts of precipitation and this winter we hope you will join us in a dance to shake the snow from the sky.

First up on December 22nd we have Lion-S with support from Alex Moon.

LION-S
(The Pride, The Living Room Stage, Nelson / Vancouver BC)

Lion-S has deep roots in the Canadian electronic dance music world. She began her life-long affair with vinyl, collecting records as a hobby from a young age. Her love for music and dance led her to discover the underground music scene on the west coast in the early 90s. She later travelled east, opening a record store in Halifax in 1997. DJing became a way of expressing the love she had for the new music she was encountering. She soon discovered a talent for both selection and mixing the perfect blend of beats for the appropriate settings. The beats drew her westward landing her back in her favorite mountain town Nelson BC, where she began setting foundations for The Pride Promotions, one of Nelson’s first dance music event companies. Her stint booking talent and music curating for all the stages at Shambhala Music Festival from 2001-2007, and as Living Room Stage Director from 2002-Present, put her in touch with some of the biggest and most influential acts of the dance music world, exposing her even more deeply to a wide variety of styles which form the basis of her unique multi genre sets. Her roots are in house music and she also explores a multitude of genres, favouring unique sounds with a global influence. Lion-S is also a founding member of the Kootenays’ original all female DJ crew MeowMix and she has a creative music project called Nür Tür that is a collaboration with her brother☺
