Youth Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator

 

Overview of Role

The Youth Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator will work with the Centre’s board, staff and partners to create and deliver a student recruitment and marketing strategy that results in an increase in local, provincial, national and international students. The R&M Coordinator will work with Red Mountain Academy on international recruitment, and determine the best use of resources, staff and time to increase international enrolment at the Centre. The R&M Coordinator will work with Seven Summits Administrative staff, communicating the philosophy of learning at the Centre and assisting students and families in their decision-making on why the Centre offers them an opportunity to be the best they can be. The desired goal is for families and/or students to choose Rossland as a community in which to live and learn. The Coordinator should be able to work in a team environment but also be a self-starter that can work independently as needed. Creativity and the ability to look at all angles to determine the best course of action in various scenarios are key. This position is a contract for one year with deliverables as targets — hourly rate negotiable and commensurate with experience and expertise. There is an option to renew for a second year.

 

Responsibilities

Create a student recruitment and marketing strategy for the Centre and oversee its delivery on the Centre’s website and all relevant marketing including print, online, digital platforms, ensuring that the Centre’s media and marketing presence is positioned to its best advantage

Respond to inquiries from prospective students/families and works with our partners to ensure our philosophy and attributes are conveyed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Work closely with the Administrator to ensure that future students realize the academic opportunities available to them

Work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally to portray an accurate and positive image of the Centre and to understand what the various markets are looking for in education

Participate in researching new markets for the purpose of individual student and group recruitment initiatives

Build effective relationships with program partners and Centre staff, remaining fully informed and knowledgeable about all aspects of admissions, student life and other issues related to students and applicants

Travel for the purpose of recruiting students and to liaise with recruitment agents.

Work with strategic partners to explore opportunities for student recruitment to the Centre

Work with the staff and board of Seven Summits to raise our profile in the Community and surrounding area by organizing events that showcase our students (including fundraising events such as apple picking, lunch/food tables at festivals, etc.)

 

Desired Qualifications

● A university degree in a related field from an appropriately accredited institution

● Minimum one year of work experience in a related field

● Understand and be able to oversee the development and production of marketing materials in various formats including print, website and social media

● Familiarity with high-school education in Canada and abroad

● Experience working in a cross-cultural environment

● Hold a valid BC Driver’s license (Class 4 preferred or willing to get a Class 4)

● A current Criminal Record Check (within the last year)

● Experience working with an international student program, experience as a host parent, experience working with high school-aged students and organizing/supervising activities and events will be considered assets

● Experience living and working abroad

● Fluency in a second language
