New Student Registrations still open! It will be 'business as usual' at Seven Summits Centre for Learning in Rossland

BC SCHOOL’S RESTART PLAN:  It will be 'Business as Usual  when Seven Summits Centre for Learning in Rossland re-opens in September, and the small size of its flexible, future proof learning environment (in the region of 40 students) is proving to be a big winner for families searching for stability, certainty, academic rigour and consistent in-person teaching once the new school year gets underway.

Following BC’s Provincial Health mandate for teens to be taught in ‘Learning Groups’ no bigger than 120 students during stage 2, in order to keep staff and students safe, 7S can confirm that it will be very much ‘business as usual’ for its teachers and cohort.

Considered a single Learning Group in its entirety, 7S will be able to continue providing Grade 8 – 12 students, the same full time, in-person schooling and academic support that they were accustomed to pre-Covid 19.

Each academic year at 7S usually kicks off with a three-day camping trip to Whatshan Lake.  This year’s team building day camp, albeit shorter in duration and closer to home, will still go ahead in the run up to Monday, Sept 14th when regular timetabling is due to start.

The Learning Centre will then be open from Monday thru Thursdays, between 8am – 4pm with additional cleaning, hygiene scrutiny and social distancing measures put into place.

In the event of a second wave, its SD71 Navigate NIDES courses, specifically designed to be delivered 100% online if required, can be effortlessly flipped from physical classrooms in the Centre back into the home by its team of BC qualified teaching, mentoring and support staff, providing additional reassurances to families who want continuity, structure and robust quality control standards underpinning their children’s education.

“There is currently a lot of worry, anxiety and confusion as to what the new timetable will look like within the traditional school system and how it will work logistically. However, our innovative approach, flexibility and super small class sizes mean that we can normalise the school day for our students, keep morale high and ensure their mental and physical well being,” says Vivienne Hurley, student recruitment and marketing coordinator, Seven Summits Centre for Learning whose academic programming remains largely unaffected by Covid related changes.  “We’ve been delivering an exceptional high school education with a family feel over the last seven years and have a fantastic track record for preparing students for post secondary choices as well as careers in the trades.  The time to start loving your high school education and putting your futures in the hands of the experts in blended learning, is now!” she adds.
