Trail & District Arts Council presents Rock the Kootenays with Blue Crush, Flipside, and RUCKUS as part of the 6 Beats Apart series.

Let’s Rock the Kootenays with local favourites Blue Crush, Flipside and RUCKUS. Bringing you all your favourite songs from the 50’s to the present these three bands will rock you off your seats!

BLUE CRUSH

Blue Crush knows how to rock! Playing at numerous events around BC these four seasoned musicians have a great time playing classic rock, pop, and country hits!

Jason Thomas has been playing bass professionally since he was a teenager, writing songs for himself and other artists. Playing and teaching on a variety of stringed instruments he performs regularly with several different bands.

Terry Alton took up guitar at the age of 10, graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology in L.A. He has played with Idle EyesThe CFOX Electric Lunch Orchestra and several different local lineups.

Tonnie Stewart plays keyboards and guitar and is an amazing vocalist! Honing her skills performing on cruise ships with her husband Terry, her time in the Selkirk College Music Program saw her write her first album and have a video on Much Music.

Drummer Jim Fike played across Canada with his duo Don Cherry for Prime Minister.  He is an incredibly versatile drummer and a great vocalist, who is featured on several songs.

FLIPSIDE

Flipside’s varied shows see them playing all genres of the most popular hits from the 50's to the 2000's.

This 4-piece cover band from the Trail area has been together for over two years and are known to have great vocal and musical capabilities.

Paul Dasti on Bass guitar and vocals moved to Trail in 1978 from Northern Ontario, where he attended Cambrian College majoring in music theory. He was the bass player for Nickel, who were quite popular in cities from Thunder Bay to Halifax. Paul is a well-known musician, playing with many local bands.

Barbara Young on vocals and rhythm guitar originates from Calgary and came to the Trail with her spouse Gary Horne. Before leaving Calgary Barbara and Gary were the co-founders of the seven-piece group called Bluestone Entertainment covering.

Gary Horne on lead vocals, guitar and keys is from the UK originally and has been playing guitar since his teenage years. Gary moved to the Trail area in 2016 with his spouse Barbara Young, who make the musical duo HY2. Gary has played with many local musicians.

Keith Houston on drums and percussion has called the Kootenays home since 2007. Originally from Jasper Keith’s involvement with music is decades long. He has operated music stores, tutored drums, and played in many bands.

RUCKUS

RUCKUS, one of the Kootenay's most popular cover band’s, brings their fun attitude to The Bailey. Playing all Canadian content tonight, the 5-piece takes pride in performing all your favorite songs, with a RUCKUS twist.

With RUCKUS since 2010, lead singer Loretta Sheriff’s distinctive voice and musical theatre background bring a new edge to familiar songs.

Drummer Rob Taylor, the founder of RUCKUS, has been gigging since the age of 15 Rob. Playing what the people want to hear, he keeps the beat going.

A true musician, Warren Holoboff plays bass because it feeds his soul. With experience playing with different bands and musicians from around the Kootenays he lays down a mean groove.

With over 40 years’ experience, guitar master Darren Mahe has shared the stage with TrooperHeadpinsGreat White and many more. His expertise and dedication to his craft is significant.

New addition Ain Baird brings his keyboard and backing vocal skills to the band. Ain's Dad worked at Motown Records and the legacy of rockin' soulful classics and edgy new sounds lives on.

They’re all ready to play it right and ruckus.

80-90 minute show.

Each show will be for an intimate group, to keep to a maximum of fifty people. Only individuals from the same household, or your “double bubble”, may be seated together.

Tickets are $25 and on sale from noon on Tuesday, December 8. Tickets may only be purchased online or by phoning the Box Office at 250-368-9669 from Monday to Friday 12-4 pm.

Anyone attending will have to adhere to our safety protocols to ensure social distancing and to prevent mingling. (See thebailey.ca for full details). We will also be giving out full refunds to anyone who can no longer attend if they feel ill.

No physical tickets will be issued for our 6 Beats Apart performances. Please print your receipt and bring it with you to the show.
