Red Roofs Duathlon

April 22 8:30 am

The Red Roofs Duathlon  is a challenging run / ride / run race, to be held held in Greater Trail, BC on April 22, 2017 featuring some exciting route changes.
The first run, (5 k,,) will start from the Transition Area near the new Columbia River Skywalk  Pedestrian Bridge in Trail.  Athletes will a short chance to warm up their legs with a relatively  flat run  to the first covered staircase.   From there on the going  will get tougher  with multiple staircases with fantastic views of the river, historic rock walls, and enthusiastic volunteers  throughout West Trail.
Once on bikes, competitors will  cross the Columbia River Skywalk Bridge to  enjoy one of the locals' favourite cycling routes towards the Waneta border, along the mighty Columbia River, past vineyards, and farmland.  Within those 30 kilometres there will be some "flat and fast" sections as well as just enough hill climbing to keep it all interesting.
Run #2  (5 km) is a single out and back that  will head west along the Esplanade, cross the Victoria Street bridge and turn around in Gyro Park.  Runners will then return along the same route, finishing back in the Transition area.
