Christine Schreyer, PhD - linguistic anthropologist

August 1 2:00 to 3:30 pm

In this talk, Christine will share her experiences working with Indigenous communities to develop tools to help learn their languages, including board games, storybooks, and alphabets, as well as her experiences learning how the speakers of the Na'vi language (from the 2009 movie Avatar) learned that language. She will discuss the similarities between the two groups and why she thinks it's important for anyone learning a language to be a language fan.

Admission is free.
