Tanna: Sunday Cinema

November 19 4:30 to 6:15 pm

Set on a remote Pacific island, covered in rain forest and dominated by an active volcano, this heartfelt story, enacted by the Yakel tribe, tells of a sister's loyalty, a forbidden love affair and the pact between the old ways and the new. With their documentary backgrounds, co-directors Bentley Dean and Martin Butler deliver a spectacularly exotic film, replete with visions of grass skirts and a spitting volcano, based on a true story from the Tanna community in the 1980s. Subtitled film.
