The Disaster Artist. James Franco directs and acts in this bizarre true story based on the making of the cult classic The Room that now plays to packed midnight screenings in a manner akin to The Rocky Picture Show. An aspiring film actor meets the weird and mysterious Tommy Wiseau in an acting class where they form a unique friendship and travel to Hollywood to make their dreams come true. Part of the Sunday Cinema series from the Trail & District Arts Council. (The film has been nominated for SAG, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Awards).
