January Speaker Series: Laura Sacks of West Kootenay Climate Hub

Our Speaker Series is back - beginning in January with Laura Sacks of the West Kootenay Climate Hub! On Thursday, January 26th, Climate Activist Laura Sacks will address why and how climate change is manifesting itself both globally and locally. Come out to the Museum at 6:00 pm for an engaging night as Laura interweaves information about the climate crisis with personal stories and experiences shared from the audience. She'll share exciting news about climate solutions and describe some of the initiatives helping to overcome obstacles in addressing the climate crisis. She co-founded the West Kootenay Climate Hub and BC Climate Alliance. She is a BC Regional Organizer for the Community Climate Hub initiative, is a trained Climate Reality Leader, and En-ROADS climate ambassador, leading workshops on climate solutions. Before focusing on climate, Laura had a career as a hydrologist, operated a small organic farm, and helped raise two daughters. Her climate work is ultimately driven by her grave concern for her daughters’ future, as well as all other living beings on this beautiful planet.
