Saturday June 22nd 12pm-2:30pm Join us on a field day to explore local Kootenay flora with Emily Roberts! Emily will guide us on a light hike while we gain knowledge on sustainable harvesting of native and naturalized species, how and why to safely use medicinal herbs, and collect botanicals for personal use & a small take home item. She relishes an opportunity to contribute this workshop within the community and inspire a kinship with nature. Join us on a field day to explore the local Kootenay flora; gain knowledge on sustainable harvesting of native and naturalized species and how and why to safely use medicinal herbs. We will be exploring herbal allies and generate your curiosities for the plant kingdom with small take home items. Emily is a registered Level 1 Field Guide with the Outdoor Council of Canada, is a maker, crafter, researcher, history nerd, mother, helper and more. Be sure to bring: good hiking/walking shoes, backpack, knife, gloves, water bottle, snacks, sun protection and questions!
