The Night Market with The Latin Lovers and Bella Cat at Music in the Park

August 14 5:00 to 8:30 pm ![]() Join the Trail & District Arts Council and Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market on July 1& for an entertaining evening of food vendors, market, beer & wine garden, and live music at The Night Market in Gyro Park. From 5 pm to 8:30 pm there’s lots to do all topped off with great live music.
Headlining the evening are The Latin Lovers at 7:05 pm.
The Latin Lovers are a fiery, wildly entertaining, Latin Band from the West Kootenays. Their music is Latin Fusion; inspired by a variety of traditional rhythms, like Cumbia, Flamenco, Tango and more. With a mix of original songs and well-known Spanish covers, these beats make you dance.
Playing an outstanding array of instruments: didgeridoo, pan flute, harmonica, accordion, brass, congas, bongos, alternative percussion, and so much more, these seven extremely dynamic musicians light the stage on fire! Their interactive approach invites the audience to participate by adding harmonies to songs and providing shakers for everyone to join in the musical experience.
Members are: Juan Rizzatti (lead vocals, guitar, pan flute, harmonica, accordion, didgeridoo); Vern Wakunick (vocals, timbale, bongos, shakers, guirro, claves); Jay Conrad (vocals, guitar); Trevor Scott (congas, bongos, djembe); Carl Redden (trumpet, trombone, vocals); Mike Roy (bass, vocals); Darryl Hosquet (drum kit).

Performing from 6:30-7 pm is the dynamic Bella Cat, a soulful vocalist whose electrifying performances blend R&B, funk, blues, hip-hop, and pop for an unforgettable, immersive and thrilling experience. Known for her powerful stage presence, Bella delivers unforgettable shows, often incorporating elements of drag and burlesque to create an immersive and thrilling experience. Her music, reminiscent of legends like Etta James, Amy Winehouse, and Tina Turner, is both raw and captivating, with a raspy, soulful voice that echoes the golden era of soul.
With three albums under her belt, Bella Cat’s career is marked by nine cross-Canada tours, performances on Hollywood Boulevard, appearances at international festivals such as the Pap Jazz Fest in Haiti, and a feature on Canada’s The Voice (La Voix). These experiences have helped her gain international acclaim, with recent shows in Costa Rica solidifying her status as a global artist.
Bella’s concerts have been hailed as “futuristic soul shows,” and media outlets like CBC, Ottawa Magazine, and Metro News have praised her remarkable vocal range and captivating stage presence. Opening the night at 5:45 pm is an act TBA!
Organized by Trail & District Arts Council, in partnership with Trail’s incrEDIBLE Farmer’s Market, our Night Markets have become a staple of Music in the Park where you may picnic, shop, and dance the night away. The market will see a range of artisans and other vendors at the market, as well as tasty cooling treats and delicious eats by our food vendors. Plus, the Beer and Wine Garden will be serving up cold beverages including cider and sodas.
So, bring a lawn chair and don't forget to bring plenty of water. Need to cool off? The music is right by the water park and the river!
Admission is by donation - $3 minimum suggested.
