FOR SALE: 2008 Subaru Outback 2.5i - Manual Transmission

Asking Price of $3000 OBO, sold AS IS.
We have been the owners of this car since 2013 (second owners), and it has served us well, but it it time to retire it, as completing the repairs at a garage have become a bit much for us at this time. It still runs (for now), but is in rough shape. This could be a great car for someone who has strong knowledge/skills in mechanics and appreciates what Outbacks have to offer.
THE GOOD:
- Has never been in an accident, but does have some cosmetic damage to the body (scratches/broken plastic over the door panel). No indentations.
- New timing belt (2020)
- New catalytic converter (2020)
- Large section of the exhaust replaced (2020)
- New oxygen sensor (2022)
- New head gaskets (2024)
- A/C Refrigerant topped up (2020)
- Oil changes every 5000km
- Regular brake maintenance (rear brake pads and rotors last replaced in 2024)
- Heated seats
- Floor mat for the back (great for dogs)
- Dog gate, specifically for this generation of Outback (if desired)
- Both all-season and winter tires on rims
THE NOT SO GOOD:
- Transmission needs replacement (still runs, but not well and not fast). ***A used transmission (150000km), new clutch plus labour was quoted at $2600.
- Burns oil (likely the valve seals).
- Rear wheel bearings need replacement soon. Front wheel bearings will need replacement as well, but not as worn as rear.
- There are some small holes (likely two) in the exhaust where it wasn't replaced in 2020.
- Rusty undercarriage, which Subarus are notorious for.
- Has been parked outdoors since we purchased in 2013
- Cracks in the windshield. Not in the field of view, but are still annoying.
