The CO came to town? Is my dream of a kill-free summer over??

For anyone visiting, or new to the area, or just not up on their understanding of our forest friends... please visit the Bear Aware site to learn about attractants and interactions with wildlife.

You may call the CO with the best of intentions, but that bear you spotted will likely be shot. They'll pass through your yard, they may end up in your tree for errant fruit, they may startle you when you go out to call the cat inside... but they aren't out to get you. Co-existing with bears is easy if you do what you need to do - talk to a neighbor, they'll fill you in. We're surrounded by natural space, which is why this is such an amazing place to live, and that comes with wildlife. We plunked a town in the middle of their mountains, so they deserve to be here more than we do. Please respect that, learn not to fear them, and let them be.
