Garbage Bear

A friendly reminder not to use the open construction bins for any food garbage as this is the best way to attract a bear.  There's a bin at the back side of The Prestige in town that someone has recently dropped a bag of food garbage in that has already attracted a bear.  This is a yound adult that does not seem to be afraid of people, this is something we don't want to see.  

Please ensure your garbage is being handled appropriately in a bear proof bin or left inside your home until garbage day pick up.  We would all hate to see this bear killed because someone didn't dispose of their trash correctly.

With all the food being offered in town this weekend it's especially important that we all do our part.

There is a community bin located at the museum!

Thank you to the group that is sponsoring the community bin at the museum. We have used it several times when we've been away and missed our regular pick up, and now to get rid of windfall fruit from our neighbourhood. There is a suggested $4.00 donation box on the bin, and I'm happy to support this smart initiative.
