When I moved here: thankfulness thread

When I moved to rossland I felt disconnected from the community and was only really meeting people that worked with me. I joined ladies curling and discovered so many great people. I wasn't an avid curler, but I stayed for years. The organizers mixed us into team of older and younger women with different backgrounds and skill levels. Everyone was always kind and welcoming. There was even a bit of scheduled kindness and community in that every 2nd week two teams would bring treats for all of the curlers to share. As a newcomer, it was the loveliest way to spend an evening getting to know other people in the community who i would never meet otherwise. As an import to town, it became a bit of an extended family. If you have a story about how this town hooked you, please share.

When I first came to town I joined the fire hall. It was great to meet an amazing group of people that were so caribg and giving of their time to be ready to help in an emergency and also to help fundraise for locals in need. Thanks Company no.1. (371)
