Spring seasonal reminder to winterize your snowblower and start your summer lawn equipment

This is your friendly spring seasonal reminder to winterize your snowblower and start your summer lawn equipment.

For your snowblowers: add some fuel stabilizer and run the engine for 5 minutes so the treated fuel runs through the carburetor.  If your machine has a fuel shutoff, turn off the shutoff while the snowblower is running and let it run until it dies.  If your carb has a fuel drain, open the drain to let the last but of fuel out of the system.  Make sure to close the drain after the last bit of fuel runs out.  Store your machine until the fall.

For your lawn equipment: Check your engine oil, top up your fuel tank with 94 octane fuel, turn on your fuel valve and start the engine.  Let the engine run for a few minutes and then you should be ready before you actually need it.

I recommend using fresh 94 octane fuel in all small engines, no older than 3 months from the gas station.

If your machine does start or it has been a few years since your last service, please text or email to make an appointment before you really need your equipment.  My work list is already starting to grow.
