Cougar and wolf on Doukhobor Draw

So this morning I was biking down Tamarack and had merged on to Doukhobor draw and I could hear a howling noise. Not wanting to be put off by a mangey coyote I continued on. The howling was getting louder as I got closer untill it sounded like it was right next to me. I then heard something charging through the bushes and trees next to me so I stopped and hopped off the bike at which point a wolf** sprinted across the trail 10 metres infront of me. At that point I heard something else crashing through the bushes and trees on my left and I turned behind me to see a cougar again approximately 10m behind me stopped dead on the trail. We made eye contact and then I turned and bolted (I have never moved so fast in my life). I know that it was probably not the right thing to turn and run but instinct took over.

Just a heads up to anyone who is heading out that way to be cautious and aware and probably don't go alone.

**Could have been a coyote I'm not sure, either way it was comfortably bigger than a big domestic dog.
