Double Album Release Show - The Porch Hounds & Peter Reed - Monday April 8th

Come out to the Flying Steamshovel to celebrate in style the release of two albums from The Porch Hounds (Nik Winnitowy - Revelstoke) and Rossland's own Peter "Buzz" Reed on Monday April 8th.

Both former members of the acclaimed Kootenay Roots/Country band Dirt Floor, these two gents will be bringing their respective bands to Rossland for the final stop on their tour.

If you are a fan of DIRT FLOOR, this two bands will feature all the members of this newly retired band on the night including the one and only Rossland favourite Alissa "Dandelion" Arnason as part of Reed's band.

THE PORCH HOUNDS

Born on the wide-open Canadian prairies, The Porch Hounds are the brainchild of singer/songwriter Nik Winnitowy. Gaining traction as a honky-tonk cover band in the small mountain town of Revelstoke, the project has morphed into a country and rock-inspired Canadiana outfit. With all parts and instruments written, recorded, and engineered by frontman Nik, the songs blend the raw energy of rock with the soulful storytelling of folk with a twang of classic country. Tales of love, loss, and alcohol, along with the timeless allure of the wide-open road, draw listeners into a world of rustic charm and heartfelt emotion. So grab a bottle, raise it high, and join The Porch Hounds as they blaze a trail through the untamed wilderness of heavy folk-country rock.

PETER REED

Peter Reed is a Rossland based storyteller, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and

manager who has always been captivated by the power and poetry of one man and a guitar. Peter crafts

his songs by distilling stories of everyday life, love and laughter delivering them through a roots/folk

lens. His acclaimed musical project Dirt Floor retired this year, leaving him with more space and time to

revisit some older material as well as making space for new compositions.

Peter will be releasing his "microalbum' 'The Sailor' recorded at Becoming Sound Studio in Ymir BC, with producer/engineer Shawn Stephenson, this album which is slated for April 2024 and has Peter feeling reinspired and as drawn to the artistic process as ever before.
